We hope that your child has enjoyed learning to play the flute or clarinet as part of their Music curriculum in Year 5. Instrumental curriculum time with Mrs Jarvis will finish at the end of this term. We are, however, pleased to be able to offer the option for your child to continue instrumental lessons in Year 6 if wished, at a cost to yourselves. This tuition will build on what your child has already learned and will involve an increased commitment on their part to practise & further their playing.Parents whose children wish to continue are asked to commit to paying for tuition / instrument hire for their child for a ten-week period of tuition (one full term) at a time. The cost of lessons is £35 per ten half-hour lessons; children who are in receipt of Free School Meals and/or who are eligible for Pupil Premium may continue at no charge as their fees will be met by this funding. Lessons will continue to be taught by Mrs Jarvis as a commissioned teacher through her company “Notable Ltd”; the data submitted for continuers will therefore be shared with her company. Please return the form attached by Monday 14th July if you are interested in your child continuing. If your child is continuing to play the flute then please return your child’s curved-style flute by Weds 16th July so it can be replaced with a straight flute. Clarinets do not need to be returned this term by continuers. If your child does not wish to continue then that’s fine too! Just let us know on the form. Your child’s instrument will need to be returned to school by Weds 16th July.
